Personal Training

Picture
In our private personal training studio we will help you reach your fitness and wellness goals. You'll notice that in our facility we don't have a lot of fixed machine equipment. That is because we teach you that you don't need a lot of equipment to get an optimal workout. We teach you how to use your body in addition to, free weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, Swiss balls, the TRX, and many more to get the most out of your workout!

Every program is individually designed and tailored for your current fitness level. By the end of your first program, which lasts about six weeks, you will be experiencing:
  •     Reduced pain and stress
  •     Increased energy and strength
  •     A greater overall feeling of well-being

Here is What to Expect:

1. Free Consultation:
Every client starts with a free consultation. This give you a chance to meet us, check out our studio and discuss your goals. It allows us to discuss with you how we can help you reach these goals.

2. Initial Assessment:
During the initial assessment we gather information to create a personalized program just for you! No cookie cutter programs here! During the assessment we look at posture, range of motion, core strength, movement patterns, and assess body fat.

3. Flexibility and Stabilization Program:
After the initial assessment we create a flexibility program based on your results. We usually send you home with homework to practice your new mobilization or stretches. (Many clients chose to sign up for ptEhance to help with learning the new exercises.) After learning your new stretches we start with a stabilization program if needed. The initial stablization program will include:
  • Balance training
  • How to properly engage your core
  • General emphasis on the smaller muscle groups surrounding joints

4. Strength Development:
Just as a building needs a stable foundation, your body can properly strengthen after a solid stabilization routine.  Strength work includes:
  • Proper lifting instruction in movements basic to more advanced
  • Using dumbbells, medicine balls, kettlebells and bodyweight to build strength and increase muscle
  • Learning the difference between strengthening and bulking up and which is right for you

5. Power Training:
There really isn't anything better for burning calories and improving athletic performance than power training.  Power training emphasizes speed and dynamic motion.  Most times they are done together as with a box jump for example.   Power training is very intense and isn't for everyone.  We will work together to decide if your body and your lifestyle require this greater level of intense workout.
Power training includes:
  • Sport specific training; Golf, tennis, skiing etc.
  • Kettlebell training
  • Plyometrics
  • Agility work
